Sunday Morning Kids
What to Expect
If you’re coming with kids, the best way to enter our building is through the covered entrance located at the back of the building, which is adjacent to our main parking lot. People will be in the main lobby to welcome you and help you find your way. The children’s wing entrance is to the left of the main lobby. Each room has a sign designating its age group. In each room, first time guests are asked to fill out a short paper form with basic information about each child’s needs and habits, including allergies.
Our spacious, colorful nursery is filled with toys and soft areas for your little one to enjoy while you worship. Continuous nursery care is provided during all Sunday morning activities, from 8:15am-12:30pm, and is located in room C7. Our professional nursery staff will welcome you, introduce themselves to your child, and ask you to fill out a paper form with basic information about your child’s needs and habits. Children must be signed in/out of the nursery, and parents are encouraged to leave a cell phone number where they can be reached by text in case they are needed. When you pick up your child, you will receive a paper and verbal report of your child’s experience in the nursery, including the activities they enjoyed and whether they ate, slept, etc. Our toddlers also enjoy outdoor play on our age-appropriate playground when the weather is nice!
3 - 4yr Olds:
Preschool children join their families in worship at the beginning of both services, where they can dance to the music, page through children’s Bibles, and enjoy a special children’s time with the Children’s Pastor. After the children’s moment, potty-trained preschool children may choose to attend Playful Praise, our PreK worship alternative, which is located in room C11.
Parents should walk with their children to this classroom to sign them in, and are encouraged to leave a cell phone number where they can be reached by text in case they are needed. Once settled, children enjoy a Bible story, crafts, games, and a snack.
Following the conclusion of the worship service, parents return to C11 to sign out their children.
Sunday School classes are offered for 3 and 4yr olds from 9:45-10:45. Here, children build relationships with other children their age and with caring, trained adults who teach them the wonderful stories of God’s people through active, hands-on learning. As with Playful Praise, parents accompany their child to their classroom and sign them in and out, leaving a cell phone number where they can be reached if they are needed.
Kindergarten - 5th Graders:
Children are always welcome in our worship services, where wiggles are expected, accepted, and often encouraged! Every week during the service, children are invited forward for a special children’s message.
Children join their families in worship for the beginning of both services every week, and remain in the sanctuary to celebrate communion with their families on the first Sunday of every month.
On the 2nd-5th Sundays of each month, Children's Church is available as an alternative for children who do not wish to remain in the worship service following the children's message. Parents are encouraged to walk with their children to the Children’s Church room to sign them in. In Children’s Church, the children participate in the same worship elements as the main service, learning about how and why each part of the service is included. Instead of a sermon, children experience a Bible story told with three-dimensional figures and wonder together about the story. A special offering time encourage children to write or draw about how they will share God’s love during the week. Parents return to room C12 to sign their children out after the worship service.
Sunday School classes are offered for Elementary Children from 9:45-10:45 each week. All kids in grades K-3 gather in room C12 for a large group opening with self-led activities and a video Bible story, then split into other classrooms by grade. This small-group time encourages kids to delve deeper into the week’s story through games, art, and Bible study. Kids also enjoy a snack during Sunday School. Fourth and Fifth grade students meet in room C3 for Sunday School.
As with Children’s Church, parents are required to sign their child in and out. If they desire, parents may also leave a cell phone number where they can be reached if needed.
