We believe that children are born with the essential knowledge of God’s presence and with the potential for meaningful spiritual experiences, activated by God. Grace UMC Children’s Ministry exists to help children on their spiritual journey.
Scripture gives us the example of Jesus growing strong and gaining in wisdom in his community (Luke 2:40). Grace helps today’s children to also grow in strength and wisdom by:
- Creating experiences that support children in the knowledge and awareness of God
- Modeling God’s unconditional love for all of God’s children
- Supporting children in discovering, developing, and sharing their unique gifts from God, and ...
- Listening and responding to the needs of children.
During this time of continued social distancing, our team has created many resources to help children and families connect at home. Many of these resources can be found online HERE. Please also connect with us on Facebook or Instagram, or subscribe to our weekly email full of resources and up-to-date information HERE.
We are excited to offer several events throughout the year for children and families. Our summer event calendar can be found HERE and events that require pre-registration can be found HERE. Please follow our Instagram & Facebook accounts for more up-to-date event information.
We will be offering a two-night VBS program this summer on July 20th and 21st. Registration for VBS is available HERE. If you are interested in volunteering for VBS or for any event or program, contact .
weekly meeting times
In addition to a variety of seasonal events, the Children’s Ministry meets regularly on Sunday mornings for hands-on faith discovery and fun. We also meet on Wednesday nights when Wilson County Schools are in session.

keeping ministry safe
To ensure that Grace UMC is a safe, comfortable home for children and their families, all children’s ministry leaders are required to be certified in our Keeping Ministry Safe program. In addition, all leaders must pass a national criminal background check and be trained in Grace UMC’s policies and procedures for child abuse prevention and recognition.
Our Shepherd program also works with families of children with special needs to ensure that every child is included in our ministry with attention to their specific needs.
